About
Mari Adachi is one of the leading violists in Japan.
She has been active as a soloist, a chamber musician and joined the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra as the Guest Principal Violist from the 2021/2022 season.
She released her first CD “Winterreise” (ART UNION) in 2018 and her second album recorded Bach’s solo pieces has been released from T-TOC RECORDS this August.
She is very passionate for doing her solo recitals with unique programs with different concepts including baroque to contemporary repertoires.
She has been educated in Tokyo, Vienna and Lausanne and worked as the Associate Principal Violist at the Tirol Symphony Orchestra in Innsbruck since 2013 for 2 years.
She has joined the Estonian Festival Orchestra directed by Paavo Järvi since 2016 and performing at Pärnu Music Festival, The Proms, the European tour, the Japan tour and the recording sessions. During the Japan Tour, she performed a duet by Mozart with Midori for the Pre-Concerts.
In 2019, she performed piano trio with Ryuichi Sakamoto and the performance was broadcasted over NHK BS Premium.
